Blaine Derbigny, a senior at St. Augustine High School, placed third in the final round of the Drew Brees’ Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge. Blaine’s idea was one of only 4 ideas that made it to this last round of competition. He explains his plan in his video and offers a touching tribute as his inspiration.
The students, staff and faculty of St. Augustine high School congratulate Blaine on making it to the finals and developing a brilliant idea. We are very proud Blaine, a responsible, caring and confident young man. Blaine is a great role model and a great representation of a student living by the code of the Purple Knight.
An honor student, Blaine is also a member of the film crew, baseball team, Future Business Leaders of America, speech/debate team and the student council. Take a look below at Blaine’s video pitch, the Braille Exploration System, a portable braille labeling device to assist visually impaired to avoid eating spoiled food or taking the wrong medication.
The Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge
The Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge inspires students to dream of starting their own business and gives them the tools to take it into the future. Junior Achievement has partnered with the Brees Dream Foundation to expand the competition and educate more students in the Greater New Orleans community.
