When the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos step onto the field for Super Bowl 50 this Sunday, two Purple Knights will face off for the chance to raise their first-ever Lombardi Trophy.

Cornerback Lorenzo Doss and the Denver Broncos defeated New England, clinching its place in Super Bowl 50. Left Guard Trai Turner and the Carolina Panthers defeated the Arizona Cardinals, and will face the Broncos on Feb. 7.

“No matter which team they’re rooting for on Sunday, the St. Augustine High School family will watch with pride as these two Purple Knights play on the biggest national stage in professional sports,” said Marcus Delarge, athletic director at St. Augustine High School.

Jackie Wallace St. Augustine class of 1969, played in Super Bowl IX with the Minnesota Vikings against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
