The NFL Conference Championship playoff field is set, and each team has a tie to the historic St. Augustine High School in New Orleans.
This weekend Arizona and Carolina will meet in the NFC title game, and New England and Denver will square off in the AFC title contest.
3 Purple Knight NFL players are on rosters for this weekend’s games. A Purple Knight also serves as a strength and conditioning coach for the New England Patriots.
Purple Knights representing St. Augustine High School are:
Lorenzo Doss: Cornerback No. 37, for the Denver Broncos. St. Augustine High School class of 2012.
Tyrann Mathieu: Free safety, No. 32, for the Arizona Cardinals. St. Augustine High School class of 2010.
Harold Nash: Head strength and conditioning coach for the New England Patriots. St. Augustine High School class of 1988.
Trai Turner: Guard No. 70, for the Carolina Panthers. St. Augustine High School class of 2011.
“We’re incredibly proud of the fact that these men are Purple Knights,” said Marcus Delarge, athletic director for St. Augustine High School. “Even as young as high school, they worked hard and developed as players and as men. It takes a tremendous amount of consistency and diligence to achieve excellence in professional sports and we couldn’t be prouder.”
